Size and Fit
PureFlex is 92% GOTS-certified organic cotton with 8% spandex. It stretches and recovers, but it behaves like cotton, not like a compression synthetic. Choose your true size.
Sizing down is the most common cause of sheerness. A smaller size puts more tension across the seat, and fabric under tension reads lighter in a deep squat or a forward hinge. If you are between sizes, take the larger one.
Shorts sit closer to the widest part of the thigh than leggings do, so the fit through the seat matters more here than the length does. Check the size guide measurements at your hip rather than going by the size you usually wear in shorts.
The high waist is designed to stay put through movement without a rigid compression band. Full measurements are in our Sizing Chart.

We had our bestselling leggings independently tested for PFAS by Applied Technical Services. Total fluorine, the limiting marker for the entire PFAS class, came back none detected at below 2 parts per million.
The report covers the main fabric of our organic cotton leggings, tested in October 2024, against a current industry threshold of 100 ppm. We publish the result rather than a blanket claim.
Why go the extra mile? PFAS are synthetic chemicals used to make fabrics stain and water-resistant, but they’re also known as “forever chemicals” because they persist in the environment and accumulate in our bodies. With PFAS linked to health risks, we made it our goal to guarantee skin-friendly comfort that eases your body and mind.
We use no DWR coatings and no fluorinated finishes anywhere in our line.

PuraKai aims to create eco-friendly, sustainable clothing that is both stylish and comfortable, using only natural fabrics that begin and end in the soil, avoiding the shedding of microplastics. We also actively support environmental initiatives and ocean conservation.
PuraKai garments are designed, cut, sewn, and finished in our own Los Angeles facility, with knitting and garment dyeing handled by Los Angeles partners. Our Texas-Grown All American line follows its own documented route: organic cotton grown in Texas, spun in North Carolina, knitted in South Carolina, and sewn in Georgia.
We primarily use organic cotton, hemp, merino wool, and lyocell. We started with cotton grown in California and have since expanded to using GOTS organic cotton from India and other natural fibers.
Our All American Project uses Texas-Grown organic cotton made in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, all within a 1,350 mile supply chain from seed to clothing.
To mitigate the environmental impact of microfiber shedding, PuraKai has committed to using only natural fibers that are biodegradable and integrate back into the soil at the end of their lifecycle, except for our activewear, which requires a small amount of spandex.
We have donated a portion of sales to environmental and ocean nonprofits every year since 2012, including organizations working on plastic pollution such as 5 Gyres.

Love them! Had to return for a larger size. A little too tight, but fits great.
I love the fit, they feel closest to my beyond yoga pants that I have found. I will say though I did size up for better squat/downdog proof. I fit the small. however medium there was a little less thinning in the deep bends around my booty. Looking forward to an expanded color line to replace all my other colorful yoga pants.

Love love love these biker shorts! I’ve been looking for something to replace my Lululemon biker leggings and this is the best organic cotton option I’ve found! The most important aspect was the waistband. Other organic cotton leggings have an annoying band where it hits the stomach wrong. Purakai did an amazing job with the waistband (it’s like the Lulu align waistband). Highly recommend! Colors are super cute too. I have 3 pairs :)

These are super nice! I’m pregnant so I wish I had sized up but that’s on me. As is they are a little see through if you squat but that doesnt bother me as much. I think if I had sized up then they wouldn’t be as see through. They feel like really good quality though

These are amazing. I wear them for moderately fast walks on the walking pad at home and they're stretchy and have a lot of give around the waist, they stay in place and the fabric is so soft and comfortable. I've loved them!

I really like these shorts. They are soft and not too compressive, just enough to retain their shape. They do ride up and are short to begin with, so next time I’ll probably order the longer inseam. But I still like them a lot. I like that they don't squeeze me, especially at the waist. I took a video to help others decide. I am wearing white underwear, which I normally would wear a thong, but you can't see through these. For reference, I am 5'2" and 115lbs and I ordered a size small.
These are the best organic fabric bike shorts I've found!! Soft, stretchy, good for working out, underwear lines are not prominent underneath. I'm wearing a large and I'm almost 5'4", 140ish pounds, waist 31" and hips/butt around 41".

Love this set - the shorts are the 5” and super soft and stretchy! Very flattering. I sized up nervous because it was cotton ( XL) but could fit in a L for sure. I’m 5’0 and 160lbs athletic / curvy.

LOVE these shorts.. they are soft breathable and so comfortable.. Its been really hard finding shorts or leggings with a waistband like this, most I have found to have a seam at the very top which is uncomfortable.. Basically identical to Lululemon but 100x better.. Please restock the brown and create more colors need them ALL!!
